Workplace Bullying
Moira Jenkins, the professional director at Aboto, specialises in helping organisations prevent and address workplace bullying and harassment.
Her approach is very applied and practical. She takes an evidence based, occupational health and safety approach that helps organisations identify the risk factors to bullying, and helps them address these factors in a practical and sustainable way.
Moira can help ensure your organisation has an up-to-date workplace policy that contains options to address conflicts, and complaints of disrespectful behaviours including bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination.
She conducts training for a number of different types of organisations on how to prevent and manage bullying and harassment. Workshops are specifically targeted to the audience, and address the specific needs of workers, managers or senior executive.
She also conducts 'Train the Trainer' workshops for organisations that employ their own trainers to undertake 'in-house' bullying prevention and management training.
Moira's mediation practice specialises in mediating complaints where there have been allegation of bullying. Moira has developed a model of mediation that is specific to complaints of bullying. She has presented this model at national conferences, and it has been written about in peer reviewed academic journals. Moira is one of the first researchers to examine the effects of being accused of workplace bullying, and she emphasizes the importance of organisations dealing with all parties to a complaint in a fair and unbiased manner.
