Aboto Clinical Psychology services are only conducted from the consulting rooms at 49 Victoria Street, Victor Harbor.

Aboto is committed to providing affordable yet highly professional clinical psychological services to all those in our community. Dr Jenkins is registered with Medicare Australia and is also a registered provider under ReturnToWorkSA.
We keep our standard fees well below that of industry recommendations. In addition, we offer concession rates to concession card holders and set aside a limited number of bulk billing appointments each week for those in extreme financial difficulties.
Please talk to our receptionist about our fees, and any concessions you may be eligible for.
You can see Dr Jenkins at Aboto Psychology services the following ways:
- Simply ring Aboto and make an appointment. You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, and can ring and make an appointment yourself. (Note our reception is staffed on a part time basis, but your call will be returned when we are able);
- If you have private health cover you may be able to claim a rebate. You will need to check with your insurance company how much this is as the rebate differs between insurers;
- You can make an appointment to see your GP and discuss your eligibility to access Medicare rebates. If you are eligible to see a psychologist under the ‘Medicare Better Access’ program your GP will make a referral and provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan;
- If you have an accepted ReturnToWorkSA claim and your GP or specialist has referred you to a psychologist, we will require the referral, claim number and claim details.
To be eligible to receive the medicare rebates you will first need to visit your GP who will assess you against certain criteria and, if eligible, prepare a Mental Health Care Plan and provide you with a referral to take to your Psychologist. Your GP CANNOT backdate a mental health care plan. So if you are seeing a psychologist under the Better Access program, you will need to have a mental health care plan before your first visit.
What is a Mental Health Care Plan?
A ‘Mental Health Care Plan involves the GP assessing you, identifying your needs and concerns and agreed management goals, and then in discussion with you selecting appropriate treatment options and arrangements for on going management (such as seeing a psychologist) and documenting this on a Mental Health Care Plan.’ (Source:www.health.gov.au)
How many sessions can I access?
You are able to receive rebates for 10 sessions per calendar year. Referrals are for a maximum of 6 sessions per referral, so you will be required to return to your GP for further referrals or reviews after each group of 4 sessions.
